At Phoenix Pediatric Dental our goal is to make certain your little ones have a positive experience while maintaining the highest standards of safety. Unlike many other pediatric dental offices, we welcome parents to our treatment areas so they can sit with their child during appointments. There are, however, some very important guidelines we need to follow.

• For the sake of safety and limited space, we ask that only one adult accompany a child for treatment.
  
  
• During treatment appointments we ask that siblings remain in the reception room under adult supervision.
  
  
• During treatment appointments parents should remain seated in their designated chair at all times. Please do not attempt to assist the doctor or staff with the management of the patient.
  
  
• During treatment the accompanying parent must play the role of a silent observer.
  
  
• Please to do not touch or stimulate your child. This can be counterproductive and dangerous while the doctor is performing dental procedures on your child.
  
  
• Cell phones are not permitted in our treatment area so please keep them in your pocket and on airplane mode. If you do need to answer a phone call please do so outside the treatment and exam areas.
  
  
• Please do not linger outside of the treatment rooms or in the hallway.
  
  
• If an emergency develops doctors do have to act quickly in order to ensure the safety of your child. In a situation such as this you may be asked to leave the room.
  
  
• Pictures and film can be a fun way to document your child’s first dental visit but there are times when it may not be appropriate. Please ask permission from your doctor before taking pictures or filming in the clinic.

These are very important ways that you can actively help in the success of your child’s visit. We are confident that all will go well and hope these guidelines will help prepare you with confidence for the upcoming appointment.
